Four men have been arrested in connection to a string of catalytic converter thefts in the area.
Earlier this month, police responded to a suspicious vehicle report in the downtown area of Fort Saskatchewan.
Police say they located and pulled over the vehicle. RCMP officers reported that when they noticed weapons and break-in tools in the vehicle, the suspects were arrested.
Officers searched the vehicle and found weapons, suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and meth, as well as four catalytic converters.
29-year-old Johnathan Boczek, a resident of Calgary, has been charged with:
- Theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property both over and under $5,000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3
- Possession of break-in tools
- Multiple drug-related offences, and Traffic Safety Act offences
35-year-old Michael Graff, a resident of Calgary, has been charged with:
- Theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property both over and under $5,000
- Possession of break-in tools
- Obstructing a police officer
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3
- Multiple drug-related offences and failing to comply with a release order
33-year-old Jordon Kerrivan, a resident of Airdrie, has been charged with:
- Theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property both over and under $5,000
- Possession of break-in tools
- Failing to comply with a release order x 3
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3
- Multiple drug-related offences
45-year-old Jason Van Wezel, a resident of Airdrie, has been charged with:
- Theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property both over and under $5,000
- Possession of break-in tools
- Obstructing a police officer
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3
- Multiple drug-related offences
All of the men were released on conditions with the exception of Kerrivan, who was placed in custody.
The four men will be appearing in the Fort Saskatchewan Court of Justice next month.
