The town of Morinville has added a new way for seniors to get around.
A pilot shuttle service aimed at helping seniors 55 years old and above around the region was announced last week and will run until September.
The service will be able to shuttle seniors to different spots around St. Albert and Edmonton for excursions. The first trip is scheduled for Thursday (Apr. 27) to the Century Casino in St. Albert.
Other notable trips over the course of the service's initial timeframe include the Muttart Conservatory on May 25 and the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market on June 24.
The cost to use the service will be $10 per person plus any additional GST.
Each shuttle has enough space for two wheelchairs and room to store any walkers if needed.
Pick-up and drop-off locations will be at three different locations in Morinville, including the Rendez-Vous Centre, Aspen House, and the Morinville Community Cultural Centre.
To register for the pilot project, you can pay a visit to the Morinville Community Cultural Centre and the Morinville Leisure Centre, give them a call at 780-939-7839, or click here to do it online.
