After several days of well above average temperatures, Southern Manitoba will see highs sink throughout Wednesday afternoon as a cold front moves through the province as an Alberta clipper brings showers and potential thunderstorms to the region.
"As that cold front moved through, we saw westerly gusts of 60 km/h or more, and that quickly picked up the dust," explained CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner. "Lingering behind that cold front is the rainfall associated with this low, which will slowly sweep across the area late Wednesday afternoon and early this evening."'
Sumner noted the rush of much colder air behind that cold front will push temperatures down 8 to 10 degrees from their highs just before noon between 25 and 27.
"Thursday will be a pretty chilly day, about 8 or 9 degrees below average between 12 and 13, but the forecast models are still showing a warm-up for the weekend, and seasonal to above average temperatures for the entirety of May long."
