Strathcona County RCMP is asking the public for more information on a Sherwood Park road rage incident that resulted in a serious assault.
Police say the incident occurred on May 9 at about 5:15 p.m. when a black GMC Sierra and a white Toyota Tacoma were travelling on Broadmoor Boulevard between Highway 16 and Prairie Drive.
Both vehicles reportedly stopped on the side of the road on Portage Lane and an altercation took place.
After the incident, RCMP reported that the two male drivers involved in the altercation attended the police detachment, one of which required medical attention for his injuries.
Both of the men were arrested for assault and released on an undertaking with conditions. They will appear in court next month.
Police say that a man driving a pickup truck stopped during the incident and claimed to have recorded the altercation, but police have yet to hear from him.
As a result, officers are asking the public for any witnesses or people with dashcam footage captured on Portage Lane on May 9 between 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to come forward.
