It is with the utmost sadness that we would like to share the passing of our father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Kevin Reid. Dad was born on Sept 16, 1933, in a log cabin in Erin Saskatchewan. He attended school and worked in Regina at a grocery store where he met the love of his life, Edith. They moved to Weyburn, where dad worked at a farm implement dealer as service manager and mechanic.
In 1970, they moved to Moose Jaw, where dad worked for the department of Highways till his retirement. Dad was a heavy-duty mechanic but was also a jack of all trades and did many renovations to our house over the years and truly made it a home. Dad loved his sports; curling, hockey, football, baseball and also was a lover of fishing. He volunteered at the Sukanen museum for several years driving and fixing tractors.
There was always a story to be told when Dad was around and shared them with all his kids and grandkids. He was a father who raised his kids with discipline but always had a soft side to him. He taught his children and grandchildren many life skills and things that we will all carry with us forever.
Dad was taken care of at home as long as possible by his loving Philippino family. We moved Dad to Providence Place in October 2022, where he resided until his passing. There, he made many friendships with residents and staff. He has left a great legacy with four kids, 10 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Edith; son Barry; brother Dennis; sister Arleen; and his parents. He will be deeply missed by his sons Terry (Janice), Robert (Lynn), Doug (Sherri); daughter Cheryl (Mike) Webster; sister Adrene; as well as his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A Come and Go Tea will be held on Friday June 2, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Providence Place in the Rose Room, with a tribute to Dad in the beginning. Come share a memory of our Dad with us. There will be a private interment in Weyburn at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinsons Canada Foundation 211 Yonge St #316, North York, ON M2P 2A9
In living memory of Kevin, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
