A man has been arrested in relation to an alleged break and enter in Redwater.
RCMP report that, on the afternoon of May 14, officers received a complaint from a business owner who said he was alerted to the break and enter by an alarm.
Upon arriving, the business owner says they witnessed a man crawl out from under the fence surrounding the property with a bag in hand before fleeing the scene on foot.
Mounties responded to the call and employed the help of the RCMP Police Dog Service to locate the suspect.
After tracking the man for a time, the suspect was eventually found hiding under a vehicle.
The suspect was taken into custody where he provided a false name to officers. Fingerprinting was able to identify the man as 30-year-old Kartel Teele, who did not have a fixed address.
Police say that Teele had a warrant out for his arrest for 38 charges in Fort McMurray and one out of Lac La Biche for two more charges.
As a result, Teele was charged with the following:
- Break and enter with intent
- Failure to comply with release order conditions
- Resist/obstruct police
Teele has been remanded in custody and will await his next court date on June 15.
