Categories

The City of Fort Saskatchewan has announced the new look for their mobile photo enforcement vehicle.

The vehicle, which has taken many forms since coming to Fort Saskatchewan around 2008, is now a brand-new Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The vehicle is part of the Automated Traffic Enforcement program, which plays a role in increasing awareness of speed and traffic safety in areas throughout Fort Saskatchewan.

Mobile photo enforcement helps in places where traffic stops can be dangerous due to traffic flow and pedestrians.

"Fort Saskatchewan prides itself on employing the Safe Systems Model, an evidence-based approach that assesses, guides, and improves traffic safety by considering how all components of the transportation system interact," wrote the City of Fort Saskatchewan in a release.

You can spot the mobile photo enforcement vehicle by the "Drive Safe" sign posted outside the vehicle.

The mobile enforcement vehicle will be exclusively in the following areas:

  • Fort Elementary Christian School
  • James Mowat Elementary School
  • John Paul II Catholic School
  • River Road/Turner Park
  • Highway 15 at the intersection of 89 Avenue
  • West Park Drive at Pryce Alderson Park

Drivers are asked to be extra cautious while travelling in those areas.
