Strathcona County RCMP is looking for suspects in a string of arsons that happened over the weekend.
On Saturday (June 10) just before 2 p.m., police received a report of a fire in some trees near St. Nicholas Catholic School in Sherwood Park. The fire was put out with no property damage.
The next day at 10 p.m., emergency services responded to a dumpster fire that started at a strip mall on Brentwood Boulevard and Sherwood Park.
Finally, at around 4 a.m. on Monday morning RCMP got word of three fires that had been set on Wye Road. The fires were located at a garbage can, a dumpster, and a pile of bundled cardboard behind strip malls. Firefighters put out the blaze with minor damage to the surrounding structures.
Police are asking residents in the area to check their surveillance and to report to the RCMP of anything suspicious.
