An expansion prompted by a strong and supportive customer base was celebrated in Altona this past week.

In 2020, Barb Teichroeb took over management of Oma's Kitchen and found ways to help the restaurant survive the changing rules around COVID.

Post-pandemic, she says their customers returned in full, and it wasn't long before she realized they needed more space.

The expansion included doubling the size of the restaurant's banquet room.

Teichroeb says she can't say enough about the support received during the past few years.

"I've had some very supportive people and special people here that have come to the restaurant. And yeah, they're just great to get to know. And I was just thinking the other day, if they were as blessed by the restaurant and the service here as I've been blessed by a lot of them, then they're very blessed," said Teichroeb with a laugh.

The expansion included doubling the size of the restaurant's banquet room. Teichroeb says the new banquet room will be used for overflow when not in use for a function.

When asked what draws people to Oma's Kitchen, Teichroeb says customers tell her it's the friendly staff, great food, and atmosphere.
