The Miami Fair and Rodeo will get underway bright and early Saturday morning for two full days of fun. Miami Agriculture Society's Jan Moody says the fair will kick off with a free pancake breakfast at the community hall - put on by local merchants.

The miniature horse show which made its debut last year is returning again, after being well received last year. That event starts at 9:00 o'clock (am), added Moody.

4-H judging will start at the fairgrounds Friday evening and will continue Saturday.

"Saturday morning, we have an open cattle show and 4-H events starting at 10:00 o'clock in the morning. The food booth is open all day long. And at lunchtime, if you want a break, and you want to sit down and visit with your friends and family, there's a lunch served in the community hall, sponsored by the Community Hall, and that's from 11:30 to 1:30 pm."

Ensuring kids have a part in the activities, Moody says a children's fair will take place from 11 am until 1:00 pm. "There are lots of fun things for the kids to do and get them involved in the fair," added Moody. And, it all leads into the weekend's big event, the Heartland Rodeo.

The rodeo takes place both Saturday and Sunday beginning at 2 pm at the Miami Grandstands. "And that is just the best entertainment, sit back and relax. Miami's lucky to have a great facility there, and great grandstands to sit and enjoy yourself."
