It appears that the Canada Day long weekend could be a rainy one.
Environment Canada is forecasting a bit of rain starting as early as today (June 30).
"We are seeing the possibility of some afternoon showers and thunderstorms for Friday afternoon and evening," said Samantha Mauti, a meteorologist with Environment Canada.
"Showery for Saturday...Sunday looks pretty sunny."
Some clouds are expected to roll through on Sunday night and carry over into Monday, which should have a mix of sun and cloud.
As for the temperature for the weekend, don't expect this week's blistering heat to carry on.
"The forecast high for Saturday is 21 C and the normal for this time of year is 22 C," said Mauti. "19 C is the forecast high for Sunday and Monday as well."
With that in mind, it might be a good idea to carry around an umbrella while you are out and about on Canada Day.
As always, even with the temperatures falling to normal levels, it is always a good idea to keep hydrated and make sure you don't over exert yourself.
