Downtown Fort Saskatchewan is getting another mural.

This addition to the Downtown Mural Program, created by the City of Fort Saskatchewan, is being painted by Flying Colors Murals.

Dave Thomas, with Flying Colors, has worked in Fort Saskatchewan before when he painted the murals outside of the Jubilee Recreation Centre, and along the side of Twice But Nice on 102 Street.

Thomas said that he got in touch with the city through a call out they made to artists in the area.

"I had a proposed idea," said Thomas. "I think the town had a slightly different idea. So, they took my idea but tweaked it to more what they were looking for."

"[The city] wanted to represent all aspects of Fort Saskatchewan."

The finished mural will feature a series of Fort Saskatchewan landmarks, from the sheep and a fire fighter to the CN Station and water tower.

Thomas has been working on the mural for several days now and is expected to finish his work in the next few days.

"The weather hasn't cooperated as much as I'd like it to."

This Edmonton-based artist has experience in the fine arts which helps him achieve the level of detail he does in his murals.

"I'm just super happy to have the opportunity to do this in the community, it's fantastic. I love working out here."

This new mural is located at the corner of 99 Avenue and 102 Street.
