The R.M. of Stanley has begun the process of searching for a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
After 15 years as the RM's CAO, Dale Toews has taken on a new role with the Pembina Valley Water Co-op (PVWC).
"As much as we will miss Dale as our CAO, we are glad that he is moving into an organization like Pembina Valley Water Coop where he can still work to the benefits of our municipalities here in Southern Manitoba, and for the whole region," said RM of Stanley Reeve Ike Friesen. "Water is a big part of our region and it's very important. So, we'll still get to work with him."
Friesen says Toews will be with the RM as their CAO until mid-October, so they have time to recruit. The RM has hired a recruiting firm to vet all applications for the next Chief Administrative Officer.
An ideal situation would see the recruiting firm find the right candidate to take over the role of CAO before Toews leaves in October. "But, if it doesn't happen, we won't rush it, said Friesen. "We have a great staff that will keep things operating for a little while."
"Dale has worked hard for us and he has a passion for community," added Friesen. "That has been very obvious in all the work that he does. He took his job very seriously, and wanted to make sure that we had the best for the people in the region."
Friesen says Toews has been a great CAO for the municipality, and the council appreciates all of his work. He added Toews is also a good friend, personable guy, and easy to connect with.
