Get ready West Central, winter is coming.
Forecasts are predicting snow arriving this evening, expected to amount to 10-15 centimetres.
Meteorologist for Environment and Climate Change Canada, Terri Lang, warns folks to brace for impact.
"Folks should get ready for that, and have it in their mind to get over the psychological impact of snow coming in," said Lang. "And just get that mindset ready [for the snow]."
The snow is coming in from a system brewing down in the United States, combined with a big push of cold air coming out of the Arctic. It's expected to have big activity in Southern Saskatchewan and Southern Alberta, opening up the snow in both regions.
"There will be some melting as the snow comes down," said Lang. "But towards midnight, when the temperatures fall below zero, we will see some blowing and drifting snow."
Anyone who still has yet to break out the winter tires is encouraged to do so. There is time today to try and book it in, or to do it oneself.
