The crowd at Canada Life Centre was all applause for a furry official at the start of Tuesday night's game.

Duke the dog was back for a special "pup drop" for last night's ceremonial faceoff.

"Tonight is our Child Advocacy game and Jets captain Adam Lowry has been working alongside Toba Centre to raise awareness and lend his support to youth who attend the facility," the Jets said in a social media post.

The Toba Centre for Children & Youth offers a safe and family-friendly setting for children who have been victims of abuse or witnessed violent crimes. "We are currently expanding and evolving our centre in order to achieve our vision that every victim of child abuse, and every child witness to violence, is heard, helped, and healed," the organization's website says. Duke works at the centre as a service animal, providing comfort to children. The organization was presented with a cheque for $50,000 on behalf of the Jets and True North Sports + Entertainment. The funds will go towards its "We Will" campaign. With last night's 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues, the Jets remain undefeated in games when Duke drops the puck. It was the second year in a row that Duke helped defeat the blues with his slobbery assist.
