The Winkler and District Christmas Cheerboard will kick off its annual fundraising season tomorrow morning, with the annual Holly Jolly breakfast.

Cheerboard committee member, Crystal Remple said they're excited to welcome you to Winkler's Central Station to enjoy some pancakes with sausage while enjoying live local musicians.

Admission for tomorrow's Holly Jolly Breakfast is by donation.

The Cheerboard's, Lori Derksen says donations at the breakfast will go extra far.

"Scotia Bank is sponsoring our breakfast and they are matching up to $3000 in donations for us...It's really encouraging to us and really exciting that there is this partnership between us and Scotia Bank, so we're really grateful and thankful for them."

This year's fundraising goal for the Christmas cheerboard is $130,000, money that will be used to purchase Christmas hampers.

"Last year was a really great year. We had about 424 hampers that went out, and we had a fundraising goal that we met last year, which was really great. Our fundraising goal this year is $130,000. On our website, there is a little meter that you can go look at to see where our progress is. Because we're at the beginning of our fundraising season, it's at 0 right now, but hopefully, in the next couple of weeks you can watch that rise quite a bit."

The Flyers vs Fire Charity hockey classic is also happening this weekend in support of the Christmas Cheerboard. The doors at the Centennial Arena will open at 1 p.m. on Sunday, with the game starting at 2:30. Admission is $2.
