RCMP looking for information regarding vandalism in Oakville
The RMCP is asking the public for help finding those responsible for vandalism in the Oakville area.
On May 7th, officers were informed that houses and cars were hit with eggs, and a rural residence had several windows smashed.
Portage la Prairie RCMP is asking that if anyone knows anything or has any video surveillance of the streets in Oakville around 2:00 a.m. that shows vehicles or people walking around from that night, they are asked to call the RCMP at 204-857-4445.
RCMP arrest last escaped inmate
Manitoba RCMP officers located the final escaped inmate from The Pas Wednesday morning.
The RCMP says that the officers apart of the Emergency Response Team, who were brought in to assist with the search for the escaped inmates, were conducting patrols in The Pas earlier and located Kelly Castel near Halcrow Avenue in The Pas.
Castel fled on foot, and additional police units, including Police Dog Services, a drone, and The Pas detachment members, immediately responded to the area. He was arrested and is now in custody.

RCMP locate one of two escaped inmates from The Pas
After a manhunt from The Pas RCMP, Xander Tardiff was located has been arrested without incident and is in custody.
Meanwhile, RCMP continues to search for Kelly Castel, the other half of the escaped inmate duo.
VIDEO: IIU concludes investigation of fatal shooting of man near Westbourne by RCMP officer
A shooting took place near Westbourne that involved an RCMP officer. An investigation was later conducted by the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU).
The incident took place on December 15, 2021, at 8:51 a.m.
Police responded to a call for service regarding a person who was stabbed. Officers conducted patrols in the area and encountered the male suspect. A confrontation resulted in the man being shot. He was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Manitoba RCMP searching for two escaped inmates from The Pas
Manitoba RCMP are searching for two inmates from The Pas who escaped Monday night.
Manitoba RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the following escaped inmates:
- Xander William Tardiff, 19, is 5’11” and weighs 180 lbs.
- Kelly John Castel, 21, is 5’09” and weighs 135 lbs.
Originally the RCMP received a report of three missing inmates from The Pas Correctional Centre, located on 3 Street East, in The Pas, at 6:45 p.m. Monday.
Long Plain takes in Red Dress Day
Friday afternoon saw the community of Long Plain come together to go on a walk in hopes of raising awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People.
As of 2020, Statistics Canada reports that the murder rate for Indigenous women compared with non-Indigenous women in the country was more than five times higher.
Lydia Daniels participated in the walk and says Red Dress Day is always emotional.
Selkirk RCMP seize weapons and chase down fleeing suspects
A single-vehicle collision at Gimli Road and Henry Avenue in the RM of St Andrews has led to the RCMP charging four individuals on multiple charges.
Selkirk RCMP received a report on May 2nd around 12:35 p.m. of a silver pickup truck full of garage-type items rolling into the ditch.
Two people were observed running toward Netley Marsh. Police attended and determined the pickup truck had been stolen.
Portage RCMP investigating after grandmother loses thousands
Portage la Prairie RCMP is warning residents after a scam artist took a Portage resident to the cleaners.
On April 28, at about 6:30 p.m., Portage RCMP received a report that an 87-year-old woman had been swindle out of more than $7200.
The Police report says that officers attended the victim’s residence and learned that she had received a phone call from her grandson stating he had been in a collision, where he had struck a pregnant woman, and he was now in police custody.
The man speaking to the victim said she now had to speak to his lawyer.
