Manitoba RCMP arrest James Borden, a most-wanted suspect

The Manitoba RCMP have crossed off another suspect from their most wanted list.

James Borden, who was added to the list on January 19, has been arrested by police. 

Borden was reported to have been in Portage and was wanted for Failing to Comply with a Probation Order x3.

Calgary man charged with human smuggling after car stopped near border

A man from Calgary has been arrested for human smuggling after a group of foreign nationals was spotted walking near Emerson.

On January 27th at about 3:45 am, the Manitoba RCMP Integrated Border Enforcement Team (IBET) received information from the United States Border Patrol (USBP) of a group of unknown individuals walking north along a rail line towards the Canadian border near Emerson.

The individuals were noted to be wearing proper winter clothing and likely to cross into Canada within the hour.

UPDATE: RCMP find 24-year-old Portage woman

Helenne Beaulieu has been safely located. The RCMP would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.

Authorities are seeking assistance locating 24-year-old Helenne Beaulieu, who was last seen in Portage la Prairie on January 28th.

Beaulieu is 5'8" and 135lbs. She was last seen wearing a dark blue winter jacket and fuzzy, flannel pajama pants. She is Indigenous, has short, wavy black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on her neck that says "Broadway. " She also has tattoos on her right forearm.

Portage RCMP respond to incident at Stride Place Saturday

Portage la Prairie RCMP were on the scene of an altercation at Stride Place during Saturday's Portage Terriers game.

The conflict is alleged to have begun between several people and overran security. Bear mace is also alleged to have been used in this incident.

Witnesses say two people were arrested, while two others reportedly fled.

PortageOnline will provide more information if it becomes available from the RCMP.

Manitoba Government waives provincial park entry fees for February

Environment and Climate Change Minister Tracy Schmidt announced Wednesday that the Manitoba government is offering free  provincial park entry for the entire month of February.

The province noted in a press release that the free park entry prompts Manitobans and visitors to explore the many winter activities available in provincial parks.

Sonny Besskkaystare, 19, is WANTED for Assault, Aggravated Assault and two counts of Failing to Comply.

He is on the Manitoba RCMP’s Most Wanted list.

MFNPS identify three men in connection to Sandy Bay shooting incident

The Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) are seeking the public's assistance in locating three men in connection with a January 3 shooting incident in Sandy Bay First Nation, which saw one man get airlifted to Winnipeg with a gunshot wound.

Keith Douglas Racette, 28 years old, is wanted in connection with the previously reported shooting incident. Racette is charged with Break, Enter and Commit, Aggravated Assault and possession of a weapon.

Garth Wayne Beaulieu has been safely located, Manitoba First Nations Police Service thank the public for their assistance.

On Sunday, family members of Garth Wayne Beaulieu filed a missing persons report with the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS.)

Beaulieu, a Sandy Bay First Nation man, has not been seen or heard from since January 9.

Family and the police are concerned about his well-being.

On Sunday, family members of Garth Wayne Beaulieu filed a missing persons report with the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS.)

Beaulieu, a Sandy Bay First Nation man, has not been seen or heard from since January 9.

Family and the police are concerned about his well-being.

Beaulieu is described as 56 years old, 6'1" tall, 181 Ibs, slender build, short brownish grey hair and wears prescription glasses.
