ICU admissions have dropped below 100

Alberta continues to make progress in the province's fight against COVID-19.

Over the weekend the number of hospitalizations dropped to 360, and ICU admissions fell to 96. This marks the first time since April 16 that ICU admissions have been in the double digits.

Alberta's top doctor is hopeful as we move closer to Stage two of the province's 'Open for Summer' plan. Dr. Hinshaw took to Twitter over the weekend to remind Albertans to stay the course.

New stress test could cool hot housing market in Kenora

Purchasing a house is already a long and stressful process.  Many factors come into play for people to find their “dream home” and now the process has gotten a little tougher for people to purchase a house.

On June 1, 2021, the federal government implemented a new stress test for getting a mortgage in hopes to cool the housing market after COVID-19 forced banks to lower interest rates, leading to housing prices skyrocketing and rising demand.

More than 3 million doses of COVID vaccine administered in Alberta

The Province of Alberta reached a significant milestone in the fight against COVID-19 on Friday.  

Between Alberta Health Services (AHS), community pharmacies and physician clinics, the province has delivered over three million doses of COVID-19 into Albertan arms since beginning the vaccine rollout.  

More than 66 per cent of people eligible for the shot have now received at least one vaccine dose while 13 per cent have been fully immunized with two doses.

COVID-19: 276 cases, 1 death in Manitoba Saturday

The province announced 276 new cases of COVID-19 and one new death related to the virus today: a female in her 60s from the Prairie Mountain Health region and linked to the B.1.1.7 variant of concern.

An outbreak has been declared at Salem Home in Winkler. The facility has been moved to the Critical (red) level on the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System.

Of today's case count, six cases have been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 270 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 52,531.

A brand new music video with a moving story behind it is out now for Casting Crowns fans.

"Scars in Heaven" is the faith-based band's latest release since 2018, when their last album, Only Jesus, was released. The album received RIAA Gold certifications for the songs "Only Jesus" and "Nobody."

The song's lyrics tell a tale of regret at first, as they express the remorse of someone who feels they didn't spend enough time with another person before their death.

Youth to get second doses through Remote Immunity 2.0

Paramedics and front-line healthcare staff are making their way to remote communities across northwestern Ontario once again, as part of Operation Remote Immunity 2.0.

The original campaign was a provincial effort to administer 25,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to adults over the age of 18 in 31 fly-in communities across the Nishnawbe Aski Nation over the winter months.

Now, Operation Remote Immunity 2.0 aims to deliver both doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to youth between the ages of 12 and 17.
