SARM President Ray Orb steps down, nominations slated for January

The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) will be looking for a new leader soon, as President Ray Orb announced he's stepping down from the top job. 

"After 20 years of proudly serving SARM, the timing just feels right. Since announcing back in March that I wouldn’t be seeking re-election, the transition has gone so smoothly that there wasn’t any real reason to delay stepping down," Orb shared in a press release sent out yesterday.

UPDATE 6:57am: The Estevan Police Service confirms that they have apprehended the suspect and the male is now in custody. 

THC and traffic enforcement: six years after legalization

2024 will mark six years after the legalization of marijuana in Canada. Since then, the former illegal drug exploded in popularity and has become a point of concern for law enforcement. 

"We're seeing a lot more people driving while under the influence of marijuana. Probably in the last month, the majority of our suspensions have been for people driving while using THC. So, we're seeing a rise in it, and with more ways to test drivers, we're finding more people driving while under the influence," Sergeant Evan Handley with the Estevan Police Service said.
