Some Kenora residents continuing to wear masks, as 6th wave ramps up
It’s been almost a month since Ontario removed its mask mandate, which was needed to enter all indoor public settings, and had been in place since August 12, 2020, in our health region.
We spoke with a few Kenora residents about whether they have continued to wear a mask or not.
One elderly woman that was entering a grocery store, said she has continued to wear a mask, though the mandate has been lifted.

The Experimental Lake Area, near Kenora, received a huge investment last week from the provincial government. $9.5 million will go towards vital research in the Experimental Lake Area, which is the only freshwater research facility of its kind in the world.
“The Experimental Lakes Area is the world’s most important freshwater research facility,” said Greg Rickford, Minister of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry.
Sioux Lookout O.P.P. searching for missing woman
The Sioux Lookout OPP is looking for help in locating missing 50-year-old Rachel Foord.
She was last seen on Moosehorn Road around 1:30 Sunday afternoon. She is described as 5'2", slim build with long blonde hair.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs won't be bringing home the Bill Salonen Cup this season. They've been eliminated from the SIJHL playoffs after a tough loss to the Red Lake Miners last night. The Dogs hosted the Miners in game six, but ultimately fell 5-1. Dryden came out third in the regular season with a 26-15-3 and 1 record.
