Local producers pleased with June showers
Rainfall at the end of June was welcomed by local producers in hopes of improved crop conditions.
According to the latest Crop Report from the Ministry of Agriculture, areas northeast of Humboldt received the highest amount of rainfall between June 24-30.
Four communities in Saskatchewan under evacuation order
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) provided an update on the wildfire situation in northern Saskatchewan on Friday.
There are 64 active wildfires in the province as of 11:00 am, Friday July 4, of those active fires, eight are categorized as contained, 20 are not contained, 25 are ongoing assessment and 11 are listed as protecting values.

Humboldt RCMP seeking information about a collision involving a pedestrian
Humboldt RCMP are seeking the public’s help identifying a subject of interest / vehicle where a pedestrian was hit.
The incident occurred on June 3, 2025, at 3:30 pm at the intersection of 7th Avenue and 9th Street. A picture of the vehicle can be found below.
City Council approves multi-unit dwelling amid discussion
At the recent Humboldt City Council meeting on June 23, a discretionary use application for a multi-unit dwelling on 14th Street was approved, but not without significant discussion.
Prior to Council’s deliberations, a public hearing was held to address concerns raised by several 14th Street residents regarding the proposed development.
Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency provides up on the wildfire situation in northern Saskatchewan
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency issued the latest update on the wildfire situation in the province.
As of 11:00 am on Thursday, there were 64 active wildfires. Of those active wildfires, ine are categorized as contained, 19 are not contained, 25 are ongoing assessment and 11 are listed as protecting values.
To date, there have been 329 wildfires in Saskatchewan, which is well above the five-year average of 190.
Watrous RCMP asking public's help in finding owner of missing bicycle
Watrous RCMP are trying to locate the owner of a missing bicycle (pictured above).
On Wednesday, July 2, a citizen turned over a black 18 speed Explorer Rialto bicycle that was found in the area of 5th Avene East in Watrous.
Police conducted checks on the serial number of the bicycle, and it revealed there were no reports of the bicycle being reported stolen or lost.
18U AAA Red Sox split with White Sox in Regina
The East Central Red Sox walked away from Regina with a split in their doubleheader with the White Sox.
In game one, the Red Sox prevailed 13-12, but dropped game two, 15-5.
Regina grabbed a 6-2 advantage after the first two innings, but the Red Sox battled back in the fourth inning, scoring seven runs on seven hits. Jaxon Schleper provided the biggest blow with a triple that knocked in three runs.
15U AAA Dodgers unable to rally past Expos
The East Central 15U AAA Dodgers were unable to hang on Wednesday night as they were defeated by the Saskatoon Expos 7-6.
Saskatoon jumped out to a 4-0 advantage through the first four innings, but the Dodgers bats came alive in the fifth inning as they scored six runs highlighted by a grand slam from Everitt Solar.
Another strong showing for Humboldt Hammerheads in Oxbow
The Humboldt Hammerheads were back in the water this past weekend in Oxbow.
Three members of the Hammerheads competed and all of them finished on the podium.
