Lacombe police urge vigilance after multiple thefts

Lacombe police are investigating a string of thefts that took place between Sept. 12 and Sept. 15 during the evening and overnight hours.

The incidents under investigation include:

  • Sept. 12–13: Theft of tires and rims from a truck at Lacombe Ford. The property is valued at more than $8,000. CCTV footage has been reviewed, and the investigation is ongoing.

  • Sept. 13–14: Theft of a battery from a holiday trailer in the 4500 block of 45 Street.

Update: Lacombe Police conclude search warrant

Last night, Lacombe police executed a search warrant at the 40 block of Bruns Cresent just after 7 p.m.

Members of the public were directed to avoid the area and not post photos on social media.

The incident was cleared at 10 p.m. and no additional information will be released at this time.

Update: Red Deer RCMP find missing youth

Red Deer RCMP have located a missing 16-year-old.

The youth was last seen the week prior and there was concern for her well-being.

She is now found and is safe.

RCMP thanked the public and media for their help.

Drayton Valley and Wetaskiwin RCMP team up to arrest armed suspect

On September 11, around 8:45 a.m., Drayton Valley RCMP received a report regarding a man who threatened to kill a member of the public as well as RCMP members should they get involved.

Drayton Valley RCMP obtained information confirming that the suspect had access to firearms and ensured that the victim was somewhere safe.

Update: Red Deer RCMP locate missing 26-year-old woman

Red Deer RCMP have located a missing woman who was last seen nearly two months ago.

Hope Fawn Jessalyn Crier, 26, was last seen on July 19, and there was concern for her well-being.

She is now safe and RCMP thanked the public and media for their help.

RCMP asking for dashcam footage of fatal August crash

Red Deer RCMP continue to investigate a fatal collision that occurred on Aug. 30, 2025, north of Red Deer on Highway 2a.

Police are seeking public assistance and asking any witnesses or those who may have dashcam video footage, to please come forward to assist in the investigation.

If anyone has any video footage capturing the collision, or the moments leading up to it, you are asked to please contact the Red Deer RCMP at 403-406-2200.

Update: RCMP identify suspect in alleged Three Hills break and enter

RCMP have identified a suspect in connection with an August break-in in Three Hills and are asking the public for help locating him.

Police say James Wardrop, a resident of Ontario, is wanted after a home was broken into on Aug. 8 between 4:30 and 6:20 p.m. Assorted items were stolen.

Investigators say he had approached the homeowner earlier offering repair services and was driving a newer-model Ford F-150.

Lacombe Police Service arrest three after vehicle stolen

On Friday, July 4, 2025, at around 3:00 a.m., members of the Lacombe Police Service were conducting patrols in the industrial area of the 5500 Block of Wolf Creek Drive, adjacent to the police detachment. Officers observed three men and a large, unleashed dog near a GMC Sierra cube van.

A check of the license plate revealed the cube van had been reported stolen out of Edmonton.
