Canada Post said late Tuesday it was hitting pause on negotiations with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers after days of talks between the parties bore little fruit.
Opposition slams Liberals for having no plans to table budget soon
Opposition parties attacked Prime Minister Mark Carney Wednesday for being vague about his plans after his government said it would not table a federal budget before the House of Commons rises for the summer.
Following the first Liberal cabinet meeting after the swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne said instead of a spring budget, the government will put forward an economic statement in the fall.
Mental health matters: ADAM encourages Manitobans to spring clean their minds
The Anxiety Disorders Association of Manitoba (ADAM) is shining a light on supporting people who struggle with mental health, particularly in the month of May.
"Spring is typically a time when people spend time tidying up around their home, taking out the garbage," says Scott McFadyen, the Executive Director of ADAM. "We're asking people to do the same sort of thing with their mental health."

Any Christian who takes the Bible seriously will have to agree the word here really should be "won't."

Lac du Bonnet wildfire claims 2 lives
A wildfire burning near Lac du Bonnet has claimed two lives.
On Tuesday, RCMP received word that two people were trapped in the fire. However, extreme conditions kept emergency crews from reaching the pair.
At around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Lac du Bonnet RCMP found two bodies, a woman and a man, just off Wendigo Road, in the RM of Lac du Bonnet.
RCMP believe the pair died as a result of the fire.
An autopsy has been scheduled to confirm the identity of the victims.
RCMP safely locate missing 4-year-old boy last seen near Teulon
Stonewall RCMP have safely located a missing 4-year-old boy.
The child was last seen before bedtime on Tuesday at his home on Road 11E near Teulon.
Stonewall RCMP, along with the RCMP Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), Police Service Dog (PDS) and Search and Rescue (SAR) helped in the search.
RCMP thank the public for their assistance.

Wind, fire, water, Earth: Steve Bell’s 'Pentecost' brings the elements to life
Christian singer and songwriter from Winnipeg, Steve Bell, has released a music video to accompany his song "Pentecost."
"I wrote it with a fellow named Malcolm Guite who's an English poet," says Steve Bell. "We were doing a Sunday morning in Seattle a couple years ago, and it turned out to be Pentecost. He was preaching, I was singing. He said to me, 'Do you have a Pentecost song?' I don't."
A while later, when Bell was at a cabin in Victoria, B.C. with Guite, the pair decided to put music to Guite's poem that was called 'Pentecost.'
