Proverbs 23:12

Can't and won't. Christians need to be very careful which one they choose. It seems that we prefer to use "can't."

"I just can't get along with my wife."

"My husband and I can't communicate."

"I just can't discipline the kids as I should."

"I just can't give up the affair I'm having."

"I can't stop overeating."

"I can't find time to pray."

Any Christian who takes the Bible seriously will have to agree the word here really should be "won't." 

Why?

A wildfire burning near Lac du Bonnet has claimed two lives.

On Tuesday, RCMP received word that two people were trapped in the fire. However,  extreme conditions kept emergency crews from reaching the pair.

At around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Lac du Bonnet RCMP found two bodies, a woman and a man, just off Wendigo Road, in the RM of Lac du Bonnet.

RCMP believe the pair died as a result of the fire.

An autopsy has been scheduled to confirm the identity of the victims.

Stonewall RCMP have safely located a missing 4-year-old boy.

The child was last seen before bedtime on Tuesday at his home on Road 11E near Teulon.

Stonewall RCMP, along with the RCMP Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), Police Service Dog (PDS) and Search and Rescue (SAR) helped in the search.

RCMP thank the public for their assistance. 

Five years ago, singer Jeremy Camp gave fans an inside look at his life through the movie, I Still Believe, and soon fans will be able to watch it at home. 

Camp shared the news on Instagram that the film is coming to Netflix. "Coming this Thursday, May 15 on NETFLIX! Five years ago, I Still Believe hit theatres the weekend the world shut down - March 2020."

Winnipegger singer-songwriter and producer Fresh IE is not only busy with a new album out, but also a special concert in the works that he's asking for your help. 

He is selling his full music catalogue, which includes 29 albums, 26 music videos and two documentaries for $50 to do a big concert and share his story at Headingley Correctional Centre. 

Christian singer and songwriter from Winnipeg, Steve Bell, has released a music video to accompany his song "Pentecost."

"I wrote it with a fellow named Malcolm Guite who's an English poet," says Steve Bell. "We were doing a Sunday morning in Seattle a couple years ago, and it turned out to be Pentecost. He was preaching, I was singing. He said to me, 'Do you have a Pentecost song?' I don't."

A while later, when Bell was at a cabin in Victoria, B.C. with Guite, the pair decided to put music to Guite's poem that was called 'Pentecost.'

Walter Siemens, 86, of Winkler formerly of Kronsthal, passed away Sunday, May 11th at St. Boniface Hospital. He is survived by his wife Lynda, his blended family of 2 daughters and 2 sons, 1 sister, and 1 brother. He was predeceased by his first wife, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. 
The celebration of life for Walter Siemens will be held Wednesday, May 21st at 2pm at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church with burial at Winkler Cemetery.

Larry R. Reimer, 76, of Steinbach passed away Monday, May 12th at his residence. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, 2 sons, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and their families. He was predeceased by 1 brother. 
The celebration of life for Larry R. Reimer will be held Friday, May 16th at 2pm at Crossings Funeral Care, Steinbach with private family interment at Blumenort EMC Cemetery. 
Viewing will be at the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Marlene Elizabeth Neustaedter nee Unruh, 86, of Winnipeg formerly of Steinbach, passed away Friday, May 9th at Winnipeg. She is survived by 1 son and his family. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, 1 daughter and her parents Cornelius and Elizabeth Unruh.
The funeral service for Marlene Elizabeth Neustaedter nee Unruh will be held Friday, May 16th at 11am at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue. 

Friends and family of a couple who lost their home and one of their four dogs to a fire over the weekend are rallying together to help the pair through this difficult time.  

The fire broke out just before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in a bungalow on Greenacre Boulevard near McBey Avenue. 

Smoke and flames were pouring from the home when firefighters arrived. 

Strong winds made it difficult for firefighters to battle the blaze. However, crews were able to get it under control by 2:30 p.m.
