How this NBA player is using a shoe to honour God

An NBA veteran is reminding Christians and young athletes to embrace their faith boldly, despite what others think. 

Jonathan Isaac from the Orlando Magic unveiled a signed pair of Judah 1 sneakers as part of the latest addition to the Museum of the Bible. 

The shoes are part of the "Impact of the Bible" exhibit, which shows how God has influenced different aspects of life such as art, education, and architecture.

Lecrae releases first studio album in three years

For the first time in three years, four-time Grammy Award-winning artist Lecrae has released a new studio album.

Reconstruction features several collaborations, including Madison Ryann Ward, Torey D’Shaun, Jackie Hill Perry, Propaganda, MEEZO!, Aklesso, and Hollyn.

"When life feels like it’s unravelling, God may be shaking the foundations, not to destroy us, but to rebuild something deeper, truer," Lecrae said on social media.

A memorial service for Alvina Doerksen nee Dueck will be held Sunday, August 24th at 3pm at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church with burial prior to the service at 2pm at Westridge Memorial Gardens. 
Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home, Winkler Saturday, August 23rd from 1 to 6:30pm. 

38-year-old woman charged with criminal negligence in death of 2-month-old

A 38-year-old woman has been charged with criminal negligence causing death after a 2-month-old infant died last September in northern Manitoba.

Lynn Lake RCMP say they were called to a report of an unresponsive 2-month-old infant. When officers arrived at the hospital, the infant was not breathing and was pronounced dead. The cause of death was determined to be drowning.

The Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services recently concluded their investigation and sent it to the Crown for charge consideration.

2 people sent to hospital after apartment fire in Central Park neighbourhood

Two people are in hospital following a fire Thursday evening in the Central Park area. 

The fire broke out just after 6 p.m. in a three-storey apartment complex on Qu'appelle Avenue.

Smoke was coming from the building when crews arrived. They were able to enter the apartment and battle the fire from inside, declaring it under control half an hour later. 

Firefighters rescued several residents from the building. Three were assessed at the scene by paramedics, with two being transported to the hospital in stable condition.

As the wildfires raged all around Flin Flon at the end of May, evacuees left their homes and belongings behind as they headed to central and southern Manitoba for safety.   Among those evacuees were former Killarney pastor and his wife, Darryl and Cindy Hartwig.  The Hartwigs are members of the Adult and Teen Challenge team at Denare Beach, located just 20 km southwest of Flin Flon where Darryl is campus manager.  The Teen Challenge students and the staff were directed to Steinbach in early June where their students could continue their program in Steinbach.

From death to life: The miracle that changed the Smallbone family forever

Courtney Smallbone recently opened up about the miracle of her son after he essentially died in his crib. 

Smallbone, the wife of Luke Smallbone of for KING & COUNTRY, was recently sharing her son's miracle story on the Heaven Meets Earth Podcast with Abigail Robertson and Ryan Bethea.

The couple have four children. When their third child, Leo, was just eight weeks old, they thought they had lost him.
