Following the rise of his first single across North and even South America, Seph Schlueter gives listeners a little insight into his music and faith. 

"I really loved music throughout my whole childhood," says Schlueter. "In high school, is really when I began to play the guitar and start to sing for the first time. For me, it was such a cool way to connect to my emotions and express something. I became so captivated by music."

It was through songs that Schlueter had a powerful experience with God. 

A prominent voice in Canada’s Christian music industry is calling for deeper accountability among believers, particularly those entrusted with a public platform. 

Six Americans were detained after attempting to send bottles filled with Bibles, USBs, money, and rice by sea to North Korea.

Though well-meaning, their actions violated South Korean ordinances banning balloon and sea-based launches to the North, ordinances aimed at reducing tensions. These types of efforts have long been common, but the group appears to have acted without consulting local organizations experienced in such work.

Starting in Brazil and making a stop in Edmonton, Alta. before coming to Winnipeg, Elton DaSilva has had a long journey in ministry and his latest stop is Camp Arnes. 

While DaSilva took over the Executive Director role in March 2025, he has always been a part of missions. "My parents were both missionaries in Bolivia, and then they were sent to Canada as missionaries," DaSilva said. "I was born in Brazil and close to the Amazon, and dad was a part of a very large church in Brazil and they sent us as missionaries to Portuguese-speaking people in Edmonton."

A landmark achievement in faith-based filmmaking has been reached with the 2,200th translation of the JESUS film, this time into Bouna, the language of the Kulango people in Côte d’Ivoire.

The JESUS film, produced by the Jesus Film Project, already holds the record as the most translated film in history. But for project leader Josh Newell, this milestone is more than a statistic—it’s the answer to a decades-old prayer.

A former drummer of a Christian rock band is speaking out about his experience regarding the grooming and unwanted advances at the hands of singer Michael Tait, as well as other friends of his.

Jimmy Swaggart, a prominent Pentecostal preacher and gospel musician whose television ministry once reached millions worldwide, and then fell from grace after scandals, has died at the age of 90.

His family announced his passing on July 1, 2025, through a statement on his official Facebook page, quoting 2 Timothy 4:7-8:

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.”

A dream years in the making came roaring to life in southern Manitoba as Activate Motocross Ministry hosted its first ride day over the weekend.

Founder Kevin Nolt says around 30 to 35 riders came out to the track near Homewood on Saturday, ranging from kids on mini bikes to adults on larger machines.

“It turned out really good,” Nolt shared in an interview with CHVN. “I’m just happy to see that people enjoyed it and that they’re looking forward to doing more.”

Michael Cochren, lead singer of Cochren & Co., talks about the need for accountability in the Christian music industry. 

"Deeply disturbing things have come into the light and some are questioning the integrity of our entire corner of the world," says Cochren on Instagram. "I do believe that these things being exposed serves as clear evidence that God is not done with Christian music. He prunes the trees that belong to him."

The frontman of the band Tenth Avenue North, Mike Donehey, is sharing his thoughts on the Christian music scene since the controversy engulfing Michael Tait, former lead singer of the Newsboys, came out. 

"I want to say this about the state of the CCM industry," says Donehey on Instagram. "I've been in the CCM industry since 2007, when my band got signed, and I've seen a lot of good and some not-so-good."

Donahey has more recently released music as a solo artist; however, he is still in Tenth Avenue North.
