Providence marks 100 years with big celebration and $20M announcement

It was a weekend full of reunions, memories, and big announcements as Providence University College and Theological Seminary in Otterburne celebrated its 100th anniversary.

The festivities kicked off Friday night (Sept. 5) at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, where alumni and dignitaries packed out the room at their Centennial Gala.

Providence University College and Theological Seminary has sold its downtown Winnipeg property following major changes to Canada’s international student program, but the school says its centennial celebration this weekend is also a moment to look ahead with hope.

In 2023, Providence purchased 447 Webb Place in downtown Winnipeg with plans to expand business and seminary programs for international students, including a residential component.

Fresh IE uses animation to share message of God’s love in latest release

bodie reflects on humbling prayer leading to first full length album

A humbling moment from the Holy Spirit was the turning point in Bodie Kuljian's music career. 

The 32-year-old singer who goes by bodie recently said in an interview with The Christian Post, that while he always loved Jesus, he was afraid to switch to making Christian music. "I didn't want to lose the audience of people who hated Jesus and hated the Church. I still wanted to write music that gave them glimpses of hope."

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake devastated parts of eastern Afghanistan late Sunday.

As of Tuesday, the death toll has passed 1,410 people, with thousands more injured and over 5,400 homes destroyed. Almost all of the deaths were in Kunar Province, Afghan officials said Monday.
