Mike Donehey weighs in on Michael Tait controversy and Christian music industry

The frontman of the band Tenth Avenue North, Mike Donehey, is sharing his thoughts on the Christian music scene since the controversy engulfing Michael Tait, former lead singer of the Newsboys, came out. 

"I want to say this about the state of the CCM industry," says Donehey on Instagram. "I've been in the CCM industry since 2007, when my band got signed, and I've seen a lot of good and some not-so-good."

Donahey has more recently released music as a solo artist; however, he is still in Tenth Avenue North. 

The Chosen cast asks for prayers while filming the crucifixion scenes

The filming is underway for The Chosen Season 6, which means they're stepping into the crucifixion story. 

The film and cast for the TV series depicting the life of Jesus and his followers are currently in Italy. 

"I'm filming and I've got some pretty intense crucifixion stuff this week, including mostly night shooting," says Director Dallas Jenkins on social media. "So it's going to be an intense week, very difficult. So please keep us in mind and in your prayers for that."

From the church to the charts: Vancouver pastor gains national recognition

Pastor Terrance Richmond not only leads his congregation in Vancouver on Sundays through sermons, but he also shares the gospel through his hip-hop music. 

Richmond and his wife planted the church, Love Quest International, in Vancouver in January 2016. Even before this time, Richmond has been writing and releasing Christian hip-hop music, including with Scribe (AKA Troy Lydiate), who attends his church.

The lead singer of the Christian band Cochren and Co., Michael Cochren, is celebrating a miracle with his wife, after almost a decade of prayers. 

"After 8 years of praying, longing, weeping, pleading for what we knew could only be a miracle - God has blessed us with a baby on the way," says Cochren on Instagram.

Cochren and his wife Leah, who is also a part of the band, know firsthand the pain of infertility. The couple is sharing this exciting announcement with all their fans while honouring others who are walking the same journey. 

The first time in over a decade, Third Day gearing up for 30th anniversary tour

For the first time in over a decade, the four original members of Third Day will be on stage together. 

The group is reuniting for a 30th anniversary tour that will go through 30 cities, kicking off in spring 2026, before wrapping up with a hometown show in Atlanta. 

For nearly 30 years, Mac Powell, Mark Lee, David Carr and Tai Anderson made up the band.

'I wish I could've said goodbye': TobyMac honours Gabe Patillo with new song

TobyMac has released a special song in memory of Gabe Patillo, a TobyMac Diverse City member who died last year after a battle with cancer. 

Gabriel Patillo was a multi-talented man who, by the age of 10, was dancing onstage alongside DC Talk. He also performed in music videos for Brentwood Music and worked as a theatre kid for Opryland, all before age 15. 

Christian artist Leeland welcomes new baby ahead of Winnipeg show this fall

Christian artist Leeland, who will be in Winnipeg later this year, has welcomed a new member to his family. 

Leeland and his wife, Mandy, welcomed their son Elliot James into the world earlier this week. 

"Welcome to the world, Elliott James, 8 lbs 15oz of pure cuteness!" said Mandy in a social media post. "Labour was the most intense, surreal yet beautiful experience. I'm so thankful to have my husband and family around us as I laboured!"
