'It's about serving the Lord,' Hope and Healing introduces new Executive Director

The Christian organization Hope and Healing International is welcoming a new Executive Director who has 25 years of experience helping children in poverty get the medical care they need.

"I ran hospitals and have been doing this work, especially in Africa, helping children for 25 years," says Kyalo Mwalimu, who recently stepped into the new role of Executive Director at Hope and Healing International. "We'd do surgery, spiritual ministry and training, and Hope and Healing was one of our partners. When this position came up, my wife and family just began to pray."

Petra, Jordan welcomes Christian services and prayers after 1,400 years

On top of enjoying the ancient scenery in the historic city of Petra, tourists can now take in church services. 

In January of 2024 Archbishop Christoforus, a Greek Orthodox priest was the first to host a service, pray, and offer communion to fellow believers in the ancient city in 1,400 years.

Grammy-Award winning Elevation Worship and Steven Furtick's Elevation Nights '24 tour kicked off last week. The eight-city arena tour has sold all its tickets and will average more than 11,500 concertgoers each night. 

“It’s not lost on us just how special it is to have an arena filled with people worshiping Jesus. It’s our prayer that what happens at Elevation Nights will have a ripple effect for years to come,” said Chris Brown.

Family and friends are mourning the loss of a former Winnipeg Blue Bomber who played not only a large role on the field but also in the team's chapel program while in Winnipeg.

Craig Roh's wife, Chelsea, announced his passing Wednesday morning on Instagram, saying that the former defensive end died on Monday, February 26.

"He was fully surrounded by love and fought until his very last breath," Chelsea writes in the post. "Craig battled Stage IV colon cancer for 18 long months, diagnosed when Max was only 9 months old."

Ordinary Angels soars to 3rd place at box office, earning over $6.1 million opening weekend

It was a successful opening weekend for Ordinary Angels.

The faith-based film shot in Winnipeg, starring Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson, came in third place at the box office. It also managed to bring in over $ 6.1 million.

The movie also scored well, with the audience scoring 82% on the Tomatometer and a 99% audience score.
