Ordinary Angels soars to 3rd place at box office, earning over $6.1 million opening weekend

It was a successful opening weekend for Ordinary Angels.

The faith-based film shot in Winnipeg, starring Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson, came in third place at the box office. It also managed to bring in over $ 6.1 million.

The movie also scored well, with the audience scoring 82% on the Tomatometer and a 99% audience score.

Church in India with 300,000 people hoping to continue growth, open more churches

Although India can be known for its Christian persecution, one megachurch is thriving and hopes to build 40 more churches over the next 10 years. 

Calvary Temple is India's largest church with 300,000 congregants located in Hyderabad, holding five separate services on Sundays to accommodate everyone. The first service starts at 6:00 a.m. and the last one takes place at 8:00 p.m.

Josh Wilson's new album shines spotlight on mental health

Christian artist Josh Wilson is releasing 24 songs in 2024 and each one shares a part of his own mental health struggle and journey back to life. 

The first track 'It Gets Better' was released on February 23. 

"I’ve struggled for many years with anxiety and panic attacks, and more recently with depression," says Wilson on social media. "Until 2017, I self-medicated my anxiety with alcohol and eventually became addicted. By the grace of God (and with the help of family, friends, and therapy) I’m almost 7 years sober now."

Transcona church releases new single

Rose Church in Transcona is making melodies once again with the release of another worship song written by the church's own worship team.

'Your Voice'  hit streaming platforms on Feb. 16 and Pastor Mark Roslund is excited for people outside the congregation to hear their third song.

"Our team is incredible. They're such amazing musicians, but they're even better worshippers if that makes sense. They just love Jesus and they're writing these songs for our house," Roslund shares, explaining that it was a long time in the making, but was worth the wait.

'You will receive your healing': Brooke Nicholls opens up about chronic pain

A Canadian Christian singer-songwriter has opened up about her experience with chronic pain in hopes of helping others.

On Thursday, Brooke Nicholls took to social media to write a letter to those suffering in silence.

"I can only write you this letter because of what the Lord has given me: eyes to see and, quite frankly, pain to feel."  

For years, Nicholls says she has struggled with chronic sciatica, which is pain that travels along the path of the sciatic nerve.

Olympian Scott Hamilton leaning on God, sees 3rd brain tumour shrink

Gold-medal Olympic figure skater Scott Hamilton is sharing a powerful miracle story after being diagnosed with a third brain tumour. 

Hamilton has had a long journey with cancer, dating back to his first diagnosis of testicular cancer in 1997. Hamilton underwent surgery and chemotherapy to beat this initial diagnosis. Then in 2004, Hamilton was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. It would be the first of many as he was diagnosed with another brain tumour in 2006 and again in 2016.
