One church left in Algeria as Christians face growing persecution

On Tuesday, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom released a report with troubling news: Only one church remains in Algeria. It’s a stark reminder of the increasing persecution of Algerian Christians.

But it’s just the fact that he’s a Christian. He proclaims his faith but also speaks about the right to exist as Christians in Algeria, and the government doesn’t like that.”

Megachurch pastor allegedly sends himself inappropriate photos of female congregant

A former pastor at a mega-church in Wisconsin is under fire again after allegedly sending himself inappropriate photos of a female congregant. 

Gabriel Mills was recently fired from his role of guest experience pastor at the Kenosha, Wisconsin campus of Journey Church. The news comes after Mills pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing to two counts of capturing an intimate representation without consent. 

Founder of South Africa's largest congregation dies at 75

The founder of South Africa's largest congregation has died at the age of 75.

Ray McCauley was the founder and pastor of the Rhema Bible Church South Africa, a church that has more than 45,000 members.

McCauley's son, Joshua, released a statement on Tuesday announcing his death.

According to Joshua, his father had stepped back from active church duties but remained fully committed to serving the body of Christ.

"His enduring legacy as a servant leader will continue to impact communities far beyond his lifetime."

1,000 prisoners attend revival event, 50 baptized on the spot

Dozens of inmates, many serving life sentences, lined up to be baptized at a recent event hosted by God Behind Bars at Angola State Prison in Louisiana. 

Over 1,000 inmates attended the event, making it one of the largest prison events in the ministry's history.

"We invited the ENTIRE STATE to join so that all the incarcerated can hear about the FREEDOM of Jesus," said God Behind Bars in a post on Instagram. " 9 prisons were bused in — including a female prison."

Petra's music to be featured in new '80s faith-based film

Petra's music will be front and centre in a new faith-based film set to hit theatres next year.

The legendary Christian rock band has teamed up with Intrigue Films to bring their first-ever feature film, Beyond Belief, to life.

The film, set in the 1980s, stars singer Carson Lueders and features some of Petra's greatest hits.
