After an astronaut got stuck in space for much longer than expected, two senior citizens from his church received a surprise that was out of this world.
Barry Wilmore, a member and elder of Providence Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas, recently went to space for what should have been a week-long mission.
In June, Wilmore and fellow astronaut Suni Williams were launched into space as the first humans to ride a Boeing Starliner spacecraft. During the launch, the spacecraft had issues with its thrusters, as well as leaking helium.

Grammy-nominated artist, Rhett Walker recently teamed up with a close friend to create a special song.
Ben Sturgell, Walker's friend, was diagnosed with ALS. He came to Walker with a song. He alongside Ben's brother, Todd, completed the single and they are now using it to raise funds for Ben and his family.
"My buddy Ben Sturgell has ALS," said Walker in a post on Facebook. "He brought a song to me, and we finished it together with his brother! 1, I said yes to honour his music and 2, I want people to stream it. 100% of the proceeds go to him and his son. ALS SUCKS!!"

Heritage church building in La Broquerie needing significant repairs
The St. Joachim Parish Church in La Broquerie is nearing its 125th anniversary. And, to ensure that the church building is around for many more years, a fundraising campaign has started that will help with some much-needed repairs.
Luc Grenier is President of the 125th ad hoc committee. He says the church along Principale Street was constructed in 1901. Grenier says it was a handful of parishioners that moved to the area, along with their priest who decided that a church building needed to be constructed. He notes almost all of the material was sourced locally.
