Swift Current Arts Council looks towards an entertaining 2025
It has been a successful start to the season for the Swift Current Arts Council and they look to continue entertaining one and all in 2025.
'Helen Arnold from the council provides details on a few of the shows coming up in the new year.
"We have Prairie Sons coming on February 27th, Susan Aglukark on March 24th, Jack Semple coming in April with a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot, Every Brilliant Thing is also in April and that is a theatre presentation.."
Swift Current 57's look to make it back to playoffs in 2025
Although snow may be on the ground, the Swift Current 57's are already preparing for their upcoming season.
Head Coach Ruddy Estrella provides some insight into the 2025 team.
"We have a couple of returners and local kids who I think will be pretty fundamental and instrumentally key to our roster this year. Like Brody Alexandre, we have Casey Prychak we also have Adam Korte, those are older heads in the league who will help out youngsters coming in now."
Debt relief amoung city's 2024 accomplishments
2024 was a busy year for the City of Swift Current filled with many accomplishments and accolades.
Mayor Al Bridal reflects on one of the biggest projects of the year.
"An exciting nuts and bolts part for me is Chinook Pathway completion from the hospital area the north east tying under the number one and number four highways back to the rest of the city so children and adults can walk and ride their bikes and not have to cross the highways and parents can feel safe about that."
