The latest exhibit at the Art Gallery of Swift Current hasn't gone to the dogs but the bees. 

Between Us bridges art and nature together as Sandee Moore Curator of the exhibit explains.

Well Between Us certainly is unique. It contains artwork that is made by artists from across Saskatchewan in collaboration with honey bees.

It's your chance to slip and slide your way into summer today at Riverside Park at the annual ISplash event put on by the City of Swift Current and Innovation Credit Union. 

Activities will be taking place today from 10 am until 4 pm as Mackenzie Veason from the city explains. 

"We will have tons of fun games, an inflatable waterslide, inflatable obstacle course and the 57's will even be joining us to play some exciting games. We will also have a free BBQ thanks to Buffalo Brew Pub"

One of Swift Current's most prestigious business awards is celebrating a special anniversary this year. 

Lindsay Gerbrandt with the Swift Current Chamber Of Commerce provides details on this year's Swift Current Business Excellence Awards. 

"Not only is it our Swift Current Business Excellence Awards, but it's the 25th anniversary of the SCBEX awards. So the 25th time we're going to celebrate all these great local businesses."

In honor of this achievement, Gerbrandt says there is now yet another chance to recognize and celebrate local businesses.

Our newest employee and Southwest Explorer, Alex Kozroski wrapped up his first weekend of exploration by attending both the Windscape Kite Festival and the Dean Anthony Memorial Rodeo in Mankota. 

While attending these events Alex gifted a number of attendees with Full Line Ag Fun Bucks, which he will continue to do at each of his stops across the Southwest this summer. 

The Swift Current Airport will be home to not just aircraft this weekend but also the drag races. 

Races will be taking place Saturday and Sunday with various classes for entry as secretary for the Swift Current Drag Race Association, Al Kaufman explains.

"We're going to have a sportsman, pro, super pro, plus also a junior, junior street and high school class racers."

Kaufman says any individuals with regular cars are invited to bring them down as he says there is a class for everything. 

Kids will be burning rubber on the streets of Central Avenue coming up this Sunday as part of the 40th annual soapbox races. 

Beginning at 10:00am young racers will put the pedal to the metal with 13 entries from Swift Current and 8 from out of town. 

Secretary of the Swift Current Soapbox Racing Association Board, Jennifer Dussault says they are always looking for new members.
