City extends thank you for help during recent flooding

Last week the city of Swift Current took the time to thank city employees for their hard work during the recent spring flooding.

On hand at the event were numerous city employees including Mayor Al Bridal and city CAO Jim Jones in addition to Swift Current 57's player Cory Bonstrom.

President of the 57's Ryan Switzer details why it was important for the organization to play a part in the city thank you breakfast.

Burn rubber this weekend as local drag race season shifts in to gear

Rubber will be burning on the track this weekend as the Swift Current Drag Racing season kicks off. 

Al Kaufman, secretary with the Swift Current Drag Racing Association provides details on this weekends races.

"The gates open at 8. Car and driver for the classes of sportsman, pro and super pro is $80. Junior, junior street and a new class we have a high school class for car and driver its $40. Pit crew and spectators that want to come and watch $10 and 12 and under are free."
