MyCityCare hosts open house and first pop up shop of 2025
Those interested in volunteering or learning more about MyCityCare will have the opportunity at their open house this Thursday at 6:30pm at Great Plains College

Arnal family continue to remember through tournament and bursary
The annual Arnal Boys 3 on 3 Memorial Hockey Tournament and their annual bursaries serve as a time of reflection, healing and helping for the Arnal family.
Applications for the Arnal Boys Memorial Bursary for young farmers are being accepted until February 1st and Chantal Henderson family member and one of the directors of the bursaries provides further details.
Bi-Annual Durum Summit returns to Swift Current this week
A bi-annual sold out event returns January 30th to the Living Sky Casino with the upcoming Durrum Summit.
Chairperson for the summit Robert Chapman details why it makes sense for the event to be held here in Swift Current.
"When you look at the durum area in Western Canada and you wonder why people want to come to an event in Swift Current, there's about six million acres growing in Western Canada. A little over a million in Southern Alberta and the rest in Saskatchewan. And within 200km of Swift Current you will find half that acreage."
Family Literacy Week 2025 focuses on the environment
Bula Ghosh of Great Plains College, Tekeyla Friday of the Chinook Regional Library, and Cortney Reynolds of Southwest Mobile Learning attended the most recent city council meeting to proclaim Jan26th to Feb 1st as Family Literacy Week.
Ghosh provided details on this year's theme.
"This year's theme is "Learn To Grow Together" which focuses on raising awareness about the responsibility of taking care of the environment."
