Sports Update - Tuesday, April 4th
Weather pending, the Winkler Flyers and Steinbach Pistons meet tonight (7:30 p.m.) at the T.G. Smith Centre in the deciding seventh game of their East Division semifinal. The winner will join the Portage Terriers and Virden Oil Capitals in round two of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League playoffs. The Flyers, who have rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to force game seven, have beaten the Pistons twice in Steinbach. The Terriers are scheduled to start the second round of the playoffs Friday night on home ice against either Virden or Dauphin.

Neufeld comes close but fails to defend provincial seniors curling title
Dave Boehmer of Petersfield and Joelle Brown of Charleswood won the Provincial Senior Curling Championships Monday afternoon in Dauphin.
Boehmer, Dale Lott, Sean Bracken, and George Hacking got two in the fifth and stole single points in the sixth, seventh and eighth ends to beat Randy Neufeld of La Salle 6-5 in the men's final. Neufeld was the defending champion and the team features Dean Moxham of Oakville and Dale Michie of Portage. Team Neufeld went through the round-robin with a 6-1 record and the loss in the final was their second of the week.
