Manitoba RCMP searching for two escaped inmates from The Pas
Manitoba RCMP are searching for two inmates from The Pas who escaped Monday night.
Manitoba RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the following escaped inmates:
- Xander William Tardiff, 19, is 5’11” and weighs 180 lbs.
- Kelly John Castel, 21, is 5’09” and weighs 135 lbs.
Originally the RCMP received a report of three missing inmates from The Pas Correctional Centre, located on 3 Street East, in The Pas, at 6:45 p.m. Monday.
Winkler police apprehend man wanted in Nova Scotia
A wanted man from Nova Scotia is behind bars after he was apprehended by Winkler police last month.
According to RCMP, local officers were tipped off about two hitchhikers in the area, and that one of them was believed to be from the Maritime province. Police were already aware of an abandoned vehicle, found the day before, which had been reported stolen in Nova Scotia and was associated to the wanted man. He was quickly located, identified and arrested.
Winkler Police need help identifying persons of interest
Winkler Police Service is turning to the public for help in identifying two persons of interest who may be able to provide police with information regarding a theft from the Real Canadian Superstore on April 20th.
The images are being released for identification purposes only, and the subjects may or may not be responsible for the aforementioned crime.

Morden Police investigate series of 'hit and runs'
A 46-year-old woman was arrested on Friday following a traffic stop by Morden police.
According to police, officers found the woman, who was driving the pulled-over vehicle, to be on an undertaking to not possess a cell phone. The subsequent investigation also revealed a quantity of crystal meth in the car.
The woman was arrested for failing to Comply with Undertaking and Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine. She was released on an Undertaking to attend to Morden Provincial Court in July.

First Rainwatcher reports of the season show limited precipitation Wednesday
It's hard to believe it took nearly until the end of April for our first Rainwatchers of the season, and it's not like it's been dry, rather the precipitation has come more often as flaky white stuff than rainfall.
Several arrests made by Morden Police over the past week
Morden Police have charged a 29-year-old male with multiple counts of assault following subsequent incidents this past Sunday.
Police were first flagged down by a male advising them he had just been assaulted by a male outside of a local business. The male told police that while he was speaking to a group of people, another male approached him and punched him in the face.
The suspect then got into a taxi and left the area.
Altona man facing multiple charges after Saturday morning stabbing
A 25 year old Altona man has been remanded into custody after an early morning stabbing in Altona.
Altona police responded to an apartment complex in the northeast corner of town around 3 a.m. after receiving multiple calls regarding a disturbance.
Upon entering the apartment, a 49 year old male with multiple stab wounds was found. The 25 year old suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but was later arrested without incident, several blocks away. Both the victim and accused are known to each other.
Pembina Valley RCMP respond to fatal two-vehicle collision west of Roseisle
A 66 year old man from Roseisle has died as the result of a two vehicle collision just west of the village.
Pembina Valley RCMP received the call around 11:25 a.m. Monday regarding the collision on Provincial Road 245, about two kilometers west of Roseisle in the R.M. of Dufferin.
The investigation determined a westbound SUV, driven by the 66-year-old male, attempted to turn south onto a gravel road (Road 40W) when it was struck by an eastbound pickup truck, driven by a 67-year-old male from Notre Dame.
Rain Thursday and Friday raises questions about overland flooding risk
With the first widespread rainfall event of the Spring season in the forecast for Thursday afternoon and Friday, municipal officials and area residents will be keeping a very close eye on on how much precipitation comes over the next two days.
