With a few weeks to go in its yearly campaign, the Pembina Valley United Way is still hoping to reach its goal of $150,000.

Since launching its annual campaign in mid-September, great progress has already been made.
    
"We're excited about the campaign so far this year," said President, Levi Taylor. "We've raised just over $107,000...So we've got a couple weeks, or a little while here to meet that goal," said Taylor. 

Winkler City Council has passed a resolution that opens the door for them to discuss issues of concern with Manitoba Highways.
    

Delivery vehicles took to the streets yesterday to drop off nearly 400 Christmas hampers in and around the Winkler area. Wednesday was delivery day for the Winkler and District Christmas Cheerboard.

Construction of the Bunker's Industrial Eats project got underway earlier this year with huge momentum. However, Kevin Hildebrand, Bunker's Executive Director said it feels as though the momentum for the project has hit a brick wall.
    
When they first started, Hildebrand said they had enough money to comfortably complete the first two phases - but they have come to the end of their finances. 
    

Winkler's transportation committee has recommended City Council approve its proposed implementation plan for Public Transportation for the City of Winkler.
    
The recommendations are based on data gathered through a comprehensive Public Transportation Feasibility study. At an open house in early November, city officials presented the findings to the community.
    
Through the process, Mayor Henry Siemens said they learned that Winkler is not yet ready for a type of transit bus system, but it does need something.

For several years, it's been a goal of Ontario-based Drive Products to expand its manufacturing division into Southern Manitoba.
    
When looking for the perfect fit to do that, they found Morden.
    
On Tuesday, the ribbon was cut to celebrate the official opening and expansion of the Drive Products Manufacturing Division into Morden, and Southern Manitoba. 

Tyler Moss, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing was out from Ontario for Tuesday's grand opening.

The Garden Valley School Division (GVSD) is hosting a pre-budget consultation on Tuesday evening.
    
Chair, Leah Klassen says the consult was moved up from February based on feedback indicating that was too late in the budget planning process.

"The feedback that we receive at the end of February, by that time a lot of the budget has already been put in place," said Klassen. "So the board wants the most amount of transparency that we can get. So we decided to do the consult at the end of November."

Hundreds of people each night took in From Everywhere to Bethlehem this past weekend in Winkler. 
    
For three nights, Winkler Parkland Park was transformed into a land of ancient times, complete with townspeople, prophets, and Roman soldiers.

Organizer, Abe Penner said for many people, the event has become a part of their yearly family tradition.

"People just say, 'You need to run this,' the kids enjoy it. The kids love to see all the sheep and the donkey, and the acting, especially toward the end, they like the cookie."

The Color has added two Gospel Music Association Canada Covenant Awards to their growing list of honours.
    
During last weekend's 43rd annual awards in Kitchener, Ontario, the group was named Group of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year.

With the expected delivery of a new baby for lead singer Jordan Janzen and his wife any day now, The Color did not make it to Kitchener for the Covenant awards ceremony.

The unseasonable mild weather is allowing a number of construction projects to advance further along this year in the MSTW Planning District. 

MSTW General Manager, Glen Wieler said they're seeing a lot of industrial, institutional, and commercial type projects continuing.

With the nice weather, Wieler said a lot of people have been trying to get that "one last foundation in."
