New, larger Potato Store "offers much more than potatoes," says Kroeker Farms Liana Fehr
Kroeker Farms celebrated Friday the new location of The Potato Store at 715 Circle K Drive with an official ribbon cutting.
According to Liana Fehr, Manager of The Potato and executive assistant at Kroeker's, the new location gives them four times the space compared to the former location on Circle K Drive.
CEO and President of Kroeker's, Wayne Rempel says it's been a long, but good path to get to this point.
Winkler campground well used over the summer
Winkler's 25-site campground nestled within the Parkland area of the city was again well-used over the summer months.
Jordan Driedger, Director of Community Services for the City of Winkler, says the majority of campers were short-term campers versus summer long campers. He says they had people coming from the United States and other parts of Canada to visit families and a lot of campers who also stayed during ball tournaments, summer hockey schools, or other festivities.

Good Double Blessing fundraiser empowering women in southern Manitoba and Guatemala
Two non-profits that strive to empower women on two continents will benefit from a fundraiser in Altona this past weekend.
Funds raised through the Good Double Blessing Fundraiser, hosted by the Love Well Centre will be split 50/50 between the Altona drop-in and a similar centre in Guatemala.
Half of the funds will benefit the Community Transformation Foundation, a Canadian charity that supports Hijos de Dios Community Centre in Guatemala which helps support women who face abuse and prejudice. The other half will go to the Love Well Drop-in Centre.
