The annual Teddy Bear Picnic is back in Winkler on Saturday, June 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering a unique, free event for families at Winkler Park (by the pool). Hosted by the Winkler Family Resource Centre, the event is open to children of all ages — and their beloved stuffed animals.

If you've ever dreamed of locking your family or coworkers in a room for an hour of high-stakes, puzzle-solving fun—Elevaro Escape Rooms in Winkler might be the perfect adventure. And starting Wednesday, June 4th, you’ll have the chance to bid on a full Elevaro experience as part of the See More Canada Auction, featuring amazing items and experiences from across the country.

We had a fantastic time celebrating our May Classroom of the Month in Altona!

This month, we visited a Grade 7 class at École Parkside School and were met with so much energy and excitement. The students were a blast to hang out with, and we had some great conversations about what it's like to be in grade 7, what their favourite summer treats are, and more.

The Back 40 Music Festival is set to return to Morden on Saturday, June 7th, promising a day of exceptional live music, local cuisine, and vibrant community spirit. Held in the picturesque Morden Park, the festival will run from 2 PM to 10 PM, offering attendees a memorable experience.

The beloved Teddy Bear Picnic is back in Morden, and has been moved to the Access event centre due to today's (May 31st) smoky conditions. The fun will be happening inside the Huron Arena from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., bringing families, stuffies, and local healthcare professionals together for an afternoon of fun, learning, and support for local programming.

Hosted by the Morden Family Resource Centre, the event serves as the Centre’s largest annual fundraiser. 

The Access Event Centre in Morden was buzzing this past weekend as fans of video games, vintage collectibles, Pokémon cards, comic books, cosplay, and more gathered for the latest edition of the Morden Pop Culture Expo. Organized by local enthusiast Trent Medynski, the two-day event offered free admission and something for everyone.

“We’ve got people coming in the door already. There was a line-up this morning,” said Medynski on Saturday. “Everybody’s ready to go. We’ve got the cotton candy ready. The icecycle treats are ready. The food trucks are ready. Let’s go!”

Salem Home’s much-loved BBQ Fundraiser is back on Wednesday May 28th, and you’re invited to gather for a cause that truly hits close to home. Hosted by the dedicated Ladies Auxiliary, this annual event raises funds to enhance Salem Park, a beautiful green space that gives residents a breath of fresh air, a spot to connect with loved ones, and a peaceful place to simply be. From the famous baked beans to burgers, this BBQ promises comfort food with a purpose—every plate helps make Salem feel even more like home.

Winkler Bible Camp is nearly booked solid for summer 2025, with over 1,500 campers registered just hours after opening. With only a few spots left and new facilities ready to welcome guests, Camp Director Dale Wiebe says the season is shaping up to be one of their biggest yet.

Two young entrepreneurs from Morden are putting a modern twist on a timeless treat—and drawing crowds in the process. Brothers Eli and Gavin Hildebrand have launched Swirl & Twirl Cotton Candy Co., a family-run business that’s gaining popularity across southern Manitoba for its fluffy, flavour-packed cotton candy.
