CHRISTMAS EVE:

On Wednesday, December 28th at 7:30 at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg will be holding their annual Scholarship Winners Concert. This year’s concert boasts six excellent young up and coming Manitoba musicians.

A local music therapist is sharing her version of 'Away in the Manger (Sweet Jesus)' as a reminder of Jesus' humble beginnings.

"This is a lullaby I have loved to sing," says Barbara Joy. "It's often sung by children and I just felt like I wanted to do it as an artist, and add something contemporary to it."

The song carries much nostalgia for many church-goers, including images of little kids dressed as angels, wise men, or camels, says Joy.

A local singer and ministry leader is sharing some Christmas music online as well as in person this weekend. 

In the past year, Kelly Wiens wrote and released a seven-song EP titled I Worship You.

"It was released on all the platforms in June," says Wiens. "I didn't put a whole lot of effort in sharing it with the world as the big agenda this year seemed to be rooting and planting ourselves as a family in Winnipeg."

The family moved from Saskatchewan and bought a house in the city on July 1.

Heidi Korte is releasing a Christmas song that includes back-ups from her family and has some 'Finnish'-ing touches. 

Korte recently released a music video starring her family for a Christmas original called 'Flying High o'er a Silent Night.'

"In this song, I'm joined by my brother, Steven, his wife, Melissa, and their three kids, Elsie, Gilead, and Eliorah. They're used to my shenanigans."

Jordan St. Cyr teamed up with his new home church in Tennessee to release a new Christmas video on the first day of Advent.

The Niverville, Man., native has been busy since he and his family moved to the Nashville area early this year.

This Sunday, November 27th at 2:00pm at St. Andrew’s River Heights Church, The Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg will be featuring the wonderful up-and-coming pianist David Potvin.
