April is here, and as we ease into spring, George Andrews from G.J. Andrews Food and Wine Shoppe stopped by our Classic 107 Studio to tell us about his wine selection for the this month of April.

We are currently in the Easter Season, and as Good Friday and Easter Sunday are coming up this weekend, it is a time for many of us to get together with family and friends, celebrate Easter and enjoy good food and baking.

Many in the Canadian musical community are reeling with shock and sadness over the death of Winnipeg-born, Manitoba-educated composer Jocelyn Morlock at the age of just 53 years old. 

Born in St. Boniface, Jocelyn received her Undergraduate Degree at Brandon University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance. From there, she would go on to earn Masters and Doctoral degrees in Composition from the University of British Columbia. 

Spring has just arrived, and although there is still snow on the ground, it is never too early to plan ahead for summer. Indeed many summer programs are already taking registrations for summer courses.

Spring is officially here, and as we are all shaking off the cabin fever, it is time to get outside and enjoy the simple pleasures in life such as sunshine, the sound of birds returning from the south, and the first buds of spring.

One of the many simple pleasures that several of us enjoy, is a great piece of art around the home, especially as spring cleaning and nesting for summer are things that many of us do around this time of year.

A major announcement was made in Niverville Thursday morning that will see the construction of a state-of-the-art film and television studio village. The studio village will go up at the corner of Wallace Road and Provincial Road 311.

This Sunday, March 26th at 7:30pm at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Winnipeg Chamber Music Society (WCMS) will be presenting their fourth concert of the 2022-2023 Season.

This concert will feature Miklós Rózsa’s Sonata for two violins, Dvorak’s Op.87 Piano Quartet and Brahms’s passionate and lyrical 2nd Cello Sonata in F.

Winnipeg music teacher and singer Heidi Korte is releasing her first book as she hopes to inspire creative people to push past their doubts and fears. 

Korte's book is titled On the Edge of Greatness: Removing Mental Blocks that Kill Creativity.

"I believe the Lord asked me to write it," says Korte. "In 2020 a church leader said, 'Heidi, it's time to write your book.' I had never considered myself to be an author."
