The night sky is the stage once again for the Perseid Meteor shower. Now through August 21, you will be able to see meteors across the night sky, with things peaking on the night of August 12.
This is all thanks to the Comet Swift-Tuttle, a comet that is close to the size of the meteor that removed the dinosaurs from the face of the planet.
Saskatchewan RCMP step up summer traffic stops to keep roads safe
With summer travel increasing across the province, the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Combined Traffic Services (CTSS) are conducting their annual traffic stops to ensure everyone on the road stays safe.
Constable (Cst.) Mario Chabot of the Rosetown CTSS says road safety remains a top priority for police as traffic increases during the summer months, with many residents and visitors heading out camping and travelling across the province.

Southwest golfers win Saskatchewan amateur golf tournaments
Chloe Wills is the 2025 Saskatchewan Women's Amateur golf champion.
The Kyle, SK product beat Ella Kozak of Yorkton by one shot to claim the championship at the Humboldt Golf Club.
Wills led after all three rounds.
She adds this championship to wins at Under 17 and Under 15 tournaments through her career.
Swift Current's Corey Bailey won the 2025 Saskatchewan Men's Mid-Amateur tournament.
He finished with a 2-over part 74 yesterday to beat Humboldt's Paul Raycroft by two shots.
Trailer fire sets blaze in southwest Sask.
A trio of local emergency services were called to a southwest campground on Wednesday afternoon for a fire that included a trailer that was completely destroyed and a propane tank that combusted.
Around 2:20 p.m., Maple Creek RCMP received a report about a camper fire at Eagle Valley park campground, north of Maple Creek.
NDP calls on province to help southwest RMs hit with drought
Saskatchewan's NDP deputy agriculture critic is calling on the provincial government for immediate action in the southwest due to drought conditions.
Five RMs in the region, Enterprise, Maple Creek, Fox Valley, Waverley, and Big Stick, have all declared states of emergency due to drought within the last month.
Federal officials say wildfire forecast shows high risk of more fires in August
The 2025 wildfire season is already one of the worst on record for Canada and there is a high risk that more fires will break out in August, federal officials said on Friday.
More than 5.5 million hectares of land have burned so far this year, more than double the 10-year average for mid-July.
That is still well behind the record fire season in 2023, when more than 6,000 fires burned more than 15 million hectares of land.
There were 561 fires burning as of Friday, including 69 that were considered out of control.
Supreme Court sets standard for prosecutors seeking adult sentences for youth
The Supreme Court of Canada on Friday upheld the sentence handed to one youth offender but overturned another, in parallel judgments that clarify the standard courts should use when determining whether a youth should be sentenced as an adult.
In the two separate cases, the youth, who were 16 and 17 years old at the time of their offences, were convicted of first degree murder and sentenced as adults to life in prison with no chance of parole for 10 years.
