Traffic impacted by numerous projects in Moose Jaw's downtown core
Construction season continues in earnest here in Moose Jaw, and there are a number of projects to keep an eye out for (and plan your commute around).
Work is ongoing on the 0 block of Fairford Street W, with closures in place on both that street and on Main Street N between Ominica and High Street. The project has an estimate completion date of June 13.
Closure permits have also been granted to SaskWater on the 0 to 100 blocks of High Street and the 200 block of Fairford, which came into effect on May 19, and will run until May 26,

We're down to the Final Four in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and just one Canadian team is in the mix.
The Edmonton Oilers will play the Stars in Dallas in Game One of the Western Conference Championship tomorrow night. The Eastern Conference Final gets going tonight with the Carolina Hurricanes hosting the Florida Panthers.
The SJHL champion Melfort Mustangs came close but settled for silver medals at the Centennial Cup. The host Calgary Canucks beat Melfort 7–2 in the championship final.

The 2025 Justinsane Barbie Car Classic in Ardill is held every year in memory of Justin Kowalski, and this year they raised $20,000 which will go towards youth recreation in and around the town of Mossbank.
'It was a wonderful day': Partners Against Violence conference
A Partners Against Violence conference at Grant Hall on Saturday was a wonderful event, participants said, attended mostly by professionals working for organizations like the Moose Jaw Police Service’s Victim Services office, Moose Jaw Family Services, and Moose Jaw Transition House.
Local transmission of measles confirmed in southern rural Sask.
Saskatchewan is seeing a spike in measles cases, with the Ministry of Health confirming local transmission of the infection in southern rural areas.
According to provincial Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab, between March 14 and May 14, there were 37 measles cases reported in the province. The cases range in age from five months to 57 years.
South Hill Community Association donates $5,000 to PSSD for new playground
The new Coteau Hills Elementary School received a significant boost for new playground equipment, thanks to the South Hill Community Association.
During a recent Prairie South School Division Board of Education meeting, the community association presented a cheque for $5,000 to go toward the playground.
Statistics Canada's April inflation data to show impact of carbon price removal
Statistics Canada is set to release inflation data for April today.
Market data shows economists on average expect the annual rate of inflation cooled to 1.6 per cent last month, from 2.3 per cent in March.
The Liberal government eliminated the consumer carbon price at the start of April, offering motorists some relief at the pump.
Last month also marked the first full month of tariffs between Canada and the United States, though both sides have offered some exemptions in the trade dispute.
Top finance officials from G7 countries gather in Banff for three-day summit
High-ranking officials from the world's top economies are in Banff, Alta., this week for a three-day summit that will cover topics including the global economy, the war in Ukraine and artificial intelligence.
The meeting comes during a period of heightened instability as U.S. President Donald Trump continues his tariff-driven effort to bring industry to American soil, leading many countries to reconsider their trade relationships with the United States and other trading partners.
