Carnie's Comments - Stereotypical Canadians

Carnie's Comments

I bought a new putter cover at a pro shop last week. I love it. It's white leather with embroidery featuring a Canadian flag, maple leaves, a beaver and a jug of maple syrup and in upper case, an E - H with an exclamation mark, EH!

I'm a proud Canadian and I get a kick out of the stereotypes that follow us. However, not everyone does.

A recent study found 70% of us think stereotypes can be viewed as racism and many are growing tired of hearing that we all say "eh" and that we all love hockey and Tim Hortons.

Catch fish, not fines: Know the rules before heading out

Saskatchewan’s fishing season is in full swing, and that is keeping conservation officers like Sgt. Dan Robinson rather busy ensuring that anglers are following the rules and regulations that help preserve one of the most popular summer activities in the province.

He explained that while the majority of anglers he encounters stay up to date on the regulations outlined in the Saskatchewan Angler’s Guide, there are always exceptions.

Moose Jaw remains one of the most competitive housing markets in Saskatchewan, according to the latest data from the Saskatchewan Realtors Association (SRA) — but the region’s real estate strength could be undermined without new inventory.
