Saskatchewan's Ministry of Agriculture has released its first crop report of the season. So far, 18 per cent of the provincial crop is now in the ground. That’s ahead of the five-year average (2020-2024) of 10 per cent and the 10-year average (2015-2024) of 12 per cent.

This week’s Spike & Friends Pet Services Inc. Adorable Adoptables from the Moose Jaw Humane Society(MJHS) is Diesel — a 6-year-old neutered male yellow Lab mix with a heart as big as his paws!
(The MJHS is not quite sure what he’s mixed with — maybe Mastiff or Bernese Mountain Dog — but whatever it is, it made him extra handsome.)
Diesel is a gentle giant and a total love bug who adores people of all ages. He’s previously enjoyed off-leash dog parks, and with a proper introduction, we believe he could live happily with another dog.

They added a total of 12 youngsters to what they call their "prospects pool". The Moose Jaw Warriors and the rest of the Western Hockey League teams wrapped up the US Priority Draft and the Prospects Draft yesterday.
Among the players Moose Jaw selected is goalie Dylan Mingo from Peachland, BC. General Manager Jason Ripplinger called him the best goalie in the draft. He got him in the 2nd round. You can read the full story on Discover Moose Jaw this morning.

DRAFT | Warriors select nine additional prospects at the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft
MOOSE JAW, Sask. – The Moose Jaw Warriors have completed the 2025 US Priority Draft and the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft, adding 12 players to their prospect pool.
With the 41st overall selection, the Warriors selected goaltender Dylan Mingo from Peachland, British Columbia. Mingo played last season with Kelowna’s RINK Hockey Academy U15 Prep team. He appeared in 21 games and has a save percentage of .899% and a goals against average of 4.05. Mingo was the highest selected goalie at this year’s draft.
Square One attends, is recognized at Legislative session, introduced by Wakamow MLA
Megan Patterson, MLA for Moose Jaw Wakamow, invited the Square One Community team to the May 7th Provincial Legislative Assembly session as her guests, where the team and its work was recognized by Terry Jenson, minister of social services, and by Premier Scott Moe.
“I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our friends from Square One,” Patterson said during the session. “Square One is an important association in my home riding of Moose Jaw Wakamow.
Measles cases rising rapidly in Sask., mostly infecting young children: SHA
The Saskatchewan Health Authority released an update on the situation regarding measles in the province, as outbreaks have been spreading across North America. Confirmed cases have included unvaccinated communities in Alberta, Ontario, Mexico, multiple U.S. states, and Saskatchewan as well.
Saqib Shahab, the Chief Medical Health Officer for the Ministry of Health, gave an update on the current transmission of measles in the province.
