City of Kenora drops ‘Jump In’
In April, the City of Kenora announced that promoting Kenora as ‘North America’s Premier Boating Destination’ would end in favour of a new brand and campaign, ‘Jump In’.
It’s since been discovered that ‘Jump In’ is a positioning statement in use by Kawartha Lakes, ON and the City of Kenora has now ceased use of the slogan.
July 18 Sports Update
The Class of 2022 for the Kenora Sports Hall of Fame has been announced.
The inductees in the athletes' category are Edie Fisher, Malcolm Fisher, and Dennis Olson who is being inducted posthumously. Kyle Koch is entering the Hall of Fame in the professional athlete category. Debbie Novak, Barry Reynard, Andrea Ronnebeck and Noreen Dunbar are being inducted as builders.

Kenora Sports Hall of Fame: Class of 2022 announced
The Kenora Sports Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2022 inductees.
Seven individuals across three categories will enter the Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 15 at the ceremony at Seven Generations Education Institute.
The inductees in the athletes' category are Edie Fisher, Malcolm Fisher, and Dennis Olson who is being inducted posthumously.
Olson was inducted into the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
Kyle Koch is entering the Hall of Fame in the professional athlete category.

The new 988 mental health hotline American authorities launched on Saturday will, once fully operational, offer residents struggling with suicidal thoughts an easy-to-remember number that will connect them with trained mental health counsellors rather than law enforcement personnel.
Arrest warrant issued, murder charges laid
The Dryden OPP has charged one person with murder and issued an arrest warrant for another individual in connection with a death in Dryden.
OPP has issued an arrest warrant, on a charge of Second Degree Murder, for Wayne Gainer "G" Kejick, age 39 of Kenora.
Gainer is described as Indigenous, 5' 10'' tall weighing 207 lbs with brown eyes and a recently shaved bald head.
Kejick was last seen in Dryden, but is a resident of Kenora.

The 2022 Open Air Market is today!
The City of Kenora would like to advise the public that Main Street South between First Street South and Second Street South will be closed to all vehicular traffic today, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, to allow for the Open Air Street Market.
The Open Air Street Market will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
