In November of 2023, a dedicated group of people formed a committee and presented their intentions to the public. Their plan? To build The INN.
“At that time, Steinbach City Council told us very clearly, that whatever we do, it must be done right, and we must build within the zoning requirements. And so, a year later, we’re back to report on our progress!”

“We have some product from the US, but we try to keep it Canadian as much as possible,” Brad shares. “Most everything here you won’t find in other places locally- there’s some overlap, but for the most part, it’s all unique.”

A family-run shop specializing in Indigenous giftware has just celebrated its fourth year in Ile des Chenes, just ten minutes south of Winnipeg.
Shoni Cree’s opened in October 2019 in the Meadowlark Boulevard strip mall, and has seen a growing clientele ever since.
“A lot of people are making their way into the store and they're surprised that there's such a nice unique gift store located in this area. They are quite happy that we are here.”
