It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of George Frederick Weinbender on March 3, 2025, at Swift Current Hospital, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

A celebration of George’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8th at Parkside Funeral Home located at 69, 4th Avenue NE in Swift Current. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Swift Current SPCA or the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS).

Margaret Goertzen Friesen nee Harms, 88, of Steinbach passed away Friday, February 28th at Rest Haven Care Home. She is survived by her husband John Friesen, 2 daughters, 4 sons, 1 brother, 4 stepchildren and their families. She was predeceased by her first husband Henry Goertzen, 1 son-in-law and many siblings.

Eva Friesen, 79, of Altona passed away Saturday, March 1st at Eastview Place. She is survived by 1 sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. 
A private funeral service for Eva Friesen will be held with burial at Blumenthal Cemetery. 
Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home, Altona Wednesday, March 5th from 1 to 9pm. 

After a short illness, Grant Blagden passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025 with family by his side at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 72 years.

Beatrice Van Wijnbergen Obituary

March 27, 1947 ~ February 28, 2025 (age 77)

The family of Beatrice Mae Van Wijnbergen (Nee Quinney) sadly announce her passing on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the age of 77 years.

Beloved wife of Dirk "Dick" Van Wijnbergen & mother of Shane (Kassie) Van Wijnbergen; She certainly did love her now grown boy. She loved that you enjoyed having books read to you, even when they were repeated, many times.

She is also survived by numerous cousins and family members.

Ronald “Joe” Carter
July 7, 1939 – March 1, 2025

Huculak, Don, 71, of Swift Current, passed away peacefully after a brief illness March 1, 2025. Don is survived by his sons Scean Clandening (Sheena Francis), Jeremy Huculak, and his daughter Laina Wightman (Mike); grandchildren Carter Clandening (Mackenzie Roberts), Allison Wightman and Madelyn Wightman; brother Murray Huculak (Kathy); brothers-in-law Russel Duncombe (Margaret), Reg Duncombe (Lynda), Wayne Duncombe, and Bryan Duncombe (Marci); and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Mr. Rene Arthur Perrault of Val Marie, Saskatchewan passed away on February 5, 2025 at the age of 88, at Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix, Saskatchewan.

Rene is survived by his wife, five sons, nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.

A celebration of life will be taking place at a later date.

Paul Klippenstein entered Heaven and ‘was gathered to his people’ on February 20, 2025. Paul was born to John E. and Helena Klippenstein on a farm near Main Centre, SK on August 28, 1931. He attended Goethe School and later finished his grade 10 and a year of Bible school at Herbert Bible School. As a teenager, dad confirmed his faith in water baptism, an event that was very significant in his life.
